HUNTING FOR THE CENTRAL CAUCASIAN CHAMOIS IN NORTH OSSETIA

It was possible to get Caucasian chamois in the Karmadon gorge area, in North Ossetia. I shot from a distance of 326 m . Weapon Blaser R8300 Norma. The weather turned out great. The places are beautiful. The hunt was quick and not difficult.

Ossetian chamois!

The hunt took just one day. We got up early, at 3 o'clock in the morning, and left the camp at 4, then we climbed the mountains at dusk. The difference in height that we walked, was about 800 meters. I did the shot 300 WM at 150 meters. I saw about ten chamois in three groups. It turned out to approach a sleeping loner. I have seen a lot of Caucasian deer, the rut was still in full swing. Thanks to Kazbek and Tsar for their hospitality, and to Peter for accompanying us!

I hunted in the KCR with Vladimir Kukota. The organization of hunting was on the high level. The accommodation was excellent: a house, a stove, a bath. Vladimir met me in Minvody and we went to the base camp at 1600 m by car. Every morning we ascended from the base to 2400 m . The mountains consisted of steep, stone screen. The climbs were the most difficult ones for me I had encountered. There was no snow, the tours were all at the very top. I shot at 350 meters, with the angle + 30 , to the running animals. Thanks to Vladimir and his team for organizing a great hunt!
