Hunt for Hume Argali

The first shot at a distance of 672 meters was successful and the trophy ram lay down on the spot. The angle was +15 degrees.Blaser R8 300 WM carbine, Berger 210 vld hunting bullet. We rode horses for 12-14 hours a day. The camp was at the level of 3300 mm. I drank diacarb and hypoxene and felt great.

Caucasian chamois North Ossetia

We paid a visit to the most beautiful region - North Ossetia. Sergey Gasparyan kindly accompanied me on this trip. The object of the hunt was a male mountain goat Chamois. By the way, it is the smallest goat of all mountain trophies, which makes hunting for it even more interesting. Easy hunting did not work out. On the first day, I shot synchronously with Sergey, I missed by 435 meters, the bullet passed higher. My friend did not fail and got a good male. The lucky man went after the goat with one of the huntsmen. I didn't lose hope and went to the ascent with the second guide. We had noticed another group high under the bridge. Either my very loud breathing, or a flock of partridges, noisily fluttering up from the slope, scared the chamois. They jumped suddenly out onto a nearby fold of the mountain. Murat measured the distance - 154 Meters while I was taking off and unfastening the carbine! I bent on the slope so that I did not even imagine that I was capable of such a thing. It seemed that I settled comfortably, and took the animal in sight. I shot and missed once again. We went on climbing and tried to follow the herd, crossing their path. They got under the very top of the head, but all in vain, the chamois hid tightly. We decided to go to the car, and then to the home to think about tomorrow. A new day showed us that a chamois preferred to stay at the very peak of our mountain. - That's where we'll go. Murat said with a wink. You can't get it by shooting, work with your feet! We had overcome the entire yesterday's route, and headed for the top, on the way we saw another group of chamois a kilometer away. - It will be a plan "B". The guide encouraged us, because Sergey, who finished on the first day, decided to go with me. Higher and higher, further and further. The slope became almost a straight wall, and even overgrown with high, dense grass. The legs were tangled, the sole sometimes didn't pierce the edging to a solid one.I crawled on a "four-wheel drive" and morally strong-willed to the ridge, and there as on asphalt. The slope was still steep, but the grass was burned by the bright, Caucasian sun. - Fall, fall! The Huntsman waved his hand. I handed it to Sergey; he was the last one. - On that rock over there, you found it yourself this morning. 350 meters. That information was enough to calculate everything and understand where Murat saw the animal. I crawled up on all fours, put a carbine, and put the corrections...- Let me look at the optics? Trophy qualities cannot be seen with binoculars from such a distance. - It seems nothing... not a world record, of course, but I would take it. - Well, let me see for myself. Murat rolled away from the rifle; I invested in the sight. - Listen, it's really nothing, it's not a tur. Horns are just above the ears, already 7-8 years old. I was thinking out loud. - Damn, it turned around on us, it's standing right there, looking at us. - Ready - shoot, step aside, that's it, it won't be visible. - Ready! - I'm watching. - Shot... Eeeee! Chamois falls as if knocked down. Sergey screamed with joy louder than after his goat. A second pause and we saw how the animal fell like a sack from the cliff for more than a hundred meters! - Fuck....you!!!! As if the artists of the famous choir with daily rehearsals, we exhaled in unison. - Oh, if only it didn't break. - Let's go look for it. That day was not as treacherous as yesterday and my trophy was not badly damaged from the last flight. On that joyful note, we wandered to the car. Everything turned out as it turned out, the taxidermist has already started working. I will look at this mountain trophy and remember what great difficulties I've experienced when has got that smallest goat! I used Blaser r93 carbine, 300 Win mag caliber Distance 350 meters angle 14 degrees.

HUNTING FOR CAUCASIAN CHAMOIS IN NORTH OSSETIA

I hunted in North Ossetia, very close to the so-called "gates" of the Karmadon gorge. I shot at my trophy on the very first day, at a distance of 434 meters, and got a male Caucasian chamois. The trophy was certainly not outstanding, but what Avshati sent. He is the patron saint of hunters of Ossetia. I will improve the result next time. The next day I acted as a cameraman, and went to the mountains with my friend, shooting a video of his hunting. Only at the very top was a trophy male spotted.Shot at 350 m. Then there was an incredible fall of chamois down the cliff ...

Chamois

We hoped for an easy closure of the mountain hunting season 2022. In fact, it turned out - 20 km through the mountains, at 4 a.m. we climbed 800 meters vertically to 2800, ran after chamois, descended another 2000 meters vertically. I shot at 163 meters, with my hands, on the outgoing chamois, - 38 degrees.

Argali Hume

In early November, I came to Kyrgyzstan to hunt with a friend. Initially, there were no plans to get a sheep, but the outfitter made an offer that I could not refuse).  As a result, the ram was got. The caliber of 300 was the norm, the distance was 430 meters. It was not particularly difficult, I took medications for normal well-being in the highlands. Everything was fine. The weather was a stable minus. We didn't walk a lot but used horses.

Cantabrian chamois

I took advantage of ProfiHunt's offer to jump into the last car of the trip to extract Cantabrian chamois. There were two days left to hunt until Madrid, taking into account the observance of all formalities and heavy logistics, in modern realities. The last day of hunting was 15.11. And there was the day of departure. In Sheremetyevo I met our esteemed teammate Yuri Viktorovich Vasilyev while whiling away the time before departure. He was flying to Africa. The waiting time flew by quickly. It turned out, we were flying on the same flight to the UAE. In the Emirates, the conversations continued))) We wished each other good luck on the hunt, and went on our flights. The representative of the company waited me in Madrid, then there was the registration of a permit for a rented weapon, and departure to the hunting lands. The road to the place took four hours. After arrival, I offered to go hunting right away, and not to waste time. We were driving by car, and observing the slopes. We saw a group of chamois and started climbing, that took about two hours. Unfortunately, there was no trophy in that group. At the beginning of twilight, we began to return. The next day was more successful. A ascend took about an hour, and a male was found. I shot from a distance of 220 meters at a decent angle up. Many thanks to the Profit Hunter team for the cool organization of this adventure, which did not end with the extraction of this trophy!!!!

Chamois hunting in North Ossetia

We hunted in the Karmadon Gorge. The Climb to the mountains was for 800 meters. I shot at an altitude of 2880 at a distance of 360 meters. It's difficult, the climb was steep.

My first tur. Kabardino-Balkaria 22

It was the easiest mountain hunting in my life! Apart from the flight and the road to the base, the hunt itself took about 5 minutes! So, we went on the road with my friend, from St. Petersburg to Mineralnye Vody, a year and a half after making the decision about the trip! Alas, life dictates its own conditions… My left-handed Blaser R8 PrSucess with a new heavy Lothar Walther match barrel in 6.5 PRC caliber made by Alexey Golubev from Soyuz-TM was with me only on the second hunt. A self-assembled cartridge, not really studied yet, but immediately declared itself at the shooting range in such a way that there was nothing to show except respect and surprise, was checked a week before in Yakutia at a short distance. The Berger EOL Elite Hunter 156 Grain bullet opened in a snow ram, from 301 meters into the exit hole of about 7 cm! So that I was sure of the carbine! I was not very confident in myself, in the sense of whether I could walk high and far in the mountains, in the weather, how they would meet, what kind of people, how an organization, whether I would be lucky with a trophy, ... in general, as usual!))) However, thanks to a clear organization of the process, having managed to shoot 300 meters to zero at the foot of the mountains near the village of Tyrnyauz, having introduced the necessary adjustments to the sight, we moved by car to the mountains. An ordinary mountain road, rocks, rivers, from one side to the other, stuck once on the rise in the mud, then a cliff on the right, then on the left. It was not good to see where the bottom was! We drove back in the afternoon, sometimes I wanted to close my eyes! But at the wheel of a hunting farm, and concurrently an experienced driver-Daniyal! I even took a little nap. Having reached the base, it was already dark, we settled in a rather comfortable house in the upper reaches of the Tyutyusuu gorge. In the morning, my friend with Daniel and other guys left for the end of the gorge in the so-called "dead end". Having traveled many kilometers through the mountains in search of a tour, luck did not smile on them that day. But all the same, truly "a bad day on the hunt is better than a good day at work"!! We, the head of the FSBI Kanametov Rustam and the huntsman Akhmat stayed at the base. They began to look around the nearby mountains with binoculars, claiming that tours happen right here! Of course, I didn't believe it, I thought "wiring", although the base was high in the mountains and the places around were quite wild. However, before I had time to brush my teeth, Rustam, throwing the binoculars, began to actively wave his hands at me, beckoning me clearly not for tea! When I ran up, he showed me a barely visible point on the slope opposite from the base. A lonely tour was grazing there.. Where he came from there was completely unclear! Ahmad was looking for tours in a completely different place. That's the boss! He knows as well as the huntsmen where and when the beast will come out! More than that! After looking a little more through binoculars, he declared that this was a trophy male 12-13 years old! Well, that was too much! Even with 10x binoculars, it was difficult to understand where the tail was, where the head was! If it weren't for the horns of course… Not believing of course, but grabbing the carbine, I began to look for a place to shoot. The angle was about 30 degrees up, and it was impossible to shoot lying down. Having adjusted to a large stone and caught in the crosshair of the tour, I pressed the distance measurement button… And then one VERY unpleasant thing turned out. I hunt with a SWAROVSKI DS sight, and up to this point there were no problems with it. At the shooting range in St. Petersburg up to 1 kilometer, gongs were struck confidently with a new caliber. The distance to the tour according to the measurement results turned out to be 706 meters. But the sight "refused" to show the aiming line! Over ballistic range was written on the screen! The sight could not calculate the point of excess at a given angle and distance! Later, after getting through to Swarovski with difficulty picking up censored words, I was directed to a page in the instructions, where it is explicitly stated that at an angle of up to 45 degrees, the maximum possible distance for a ballistic calculator is up to 600 meters, and at an angle of up to 30 degrees from 600 to 1024 meters. Oh, we Russians don't like to study the mat carefully. part!))..... But then it came as a complete surprise to me! I pressed the distance measurement button again and again, but each time the inscription on the screen said that the sight could not calculate ballistics under these conditions. Having blunted for a while, quickly changing the battery just in case, the benefit of the tour was quietly grazing without suspecting anything, we began to move from stone to stone to change the conditions of the shot. There were plenty of huge stones nearby for the joy of it! As a result, the angle was 28 degrees, the inscription disappeared and the sight showed the point of excess. Praise be to Allah!!! All this fuss took only a few minutes, but it seemed to me that it took forever! Here he is a beast, in the affected area, in the hands of a carbine, and it is impossible to shoot!! My attitude towards DS changed a lot after that! And they also write that this is a sight for mountain hunting! Finally, I lay down on a rock almost standing up, put my backpack on, because the bipods were superfluous and increased the angle and the tour was again in the sights. While I was running, Rustam managed to measure the wind and it was 0.5 meters per second. Taking a little above the shoulder blade, almost without correction, I pulled the trigger. The tour fell like a log, rolled a little down a steep slope and froze in a thicket of raspberries ...... Congratulations, slapping on the shoulder, shaking hands, a great shot and all that, and I'm starting to realize that the hunt for me in Kabardino-Balkaria is over!) Damn it! A year and a half to prepare, go to the shooting range, train, adjust the cartridge, get ready, worry, fly, go at night in the mountains, and as a result, not even five minutes have passed from the moment of discovery to taking the trophy! It was good that it was cold and I had to get dressed in front of my teeth, otherwise I would have had to shoot in underpants and slippers! No, of course, then we all went together for a tour, crossed the river with icy water, I went straight in my shoes because there were very slippery stones in the river, and Rustam decided to take off his shoes and wade barefoot. His legs were then red, like a goose's paws!)) We climbed for a long time, then lowered the tour from the slope, dragged it to the river, then ferried it across the river, he almost swam away from us (together with me), tied it well!, butchered.. It took hours already. But only after that we managed to feel that we were on the hunt! A lot of photos, emotions, sweat, wet feet and happy smiles remained after the campaign for this trophy! Everyone was fixed with this huge, powerful tour. I still review these photos every day and will do it for a long time!)) He really turned out to be 13 years old! That's the eye, that's the experience! My tired friend returned with Daniyal and other huntsmen. They were happy for us, but called us freeloaders, which was the pure truth!)), and Rustam popularly explained to them from whom they could learn inexpensively how to track down the beast!)) The next day, a friend's hunting was successful, but with exactly the same adventures with a sight! He also has a DS and he had to move already on a steep slope, hiding and losing good positions for a shot until the sight worked… As a result, they took a wonderful tour, but he tasted adrenaline with an eye even more than mine .... Then Rustam personally cooked meat for everyone in an Afghan cauldron. A dangerous thing, I must tell you! A jet of hot steam beat up 5 meters for half an hour, I thought we would all take off into the air, along with the house!)) But then it was very tasty! Rustam also turned out to be a skilled cook! I have a lot of respect for men who can cook something themselves! And when it also turns out delicious-it's doubly so! It was good… It is true that someone said that they go hunting not for prey, but for peace of mind… Thanks to my friend Andrey, as well as Rustam, Daniyal, and all the huntsmen guys, they are real professionals who love their region and their work. The most amazing thing was that we experienced an incredible sense of comfort with a friend in the Caucasus mountains! It was easy and free to breathe. No signs of discomfort. The weather was beautiful. People are no less wonderful! Fascinating views!. I even wanted to sing! (with complete inability!)) It's like we've always lived here! It is not for nothing that poets, writers, and artists drew inspiration here… I didn't want to leave at all, but North Ossetia was waiting for us ahead, where, apparently in revenge for my too easy trophy, fate tested us to the fullest! But that's another story.....

Altay ibex

It was one of my first mountain hunts. It was very cold and windy. I hunted on the border with Tyva. Weapon Moose -4, caliber 7.62/51, a distance of about 250 meters. There was no rangefinder yet ) I got it on the 3rd day of hunting. There was no limit to joy.

HUNTING FOR THE WESTERN CAUCASIAN CHAMOIS IN THE KCR

I hunted in the KCR at the end of November 2018. We were lucky with the weather. We went a lot. I shot – caliber 338 Lapua Magnum at 430 m .  I would like to say thank you to Vladimir, who was my guide in the mountains. The hunt took place, among other things, thanks to his professional qualities and knowledge of the terrain.

HUME ARGALI HUNTING. KYRGYZSTAN.

I hunted for a Hume argali in Kyrgyzstan. I wanted a good trophy that's why we were chasing a group of 5 sheep for 4 days. The herd  was led by a worthy leader. They broke down at the slightest danger from a distance of more than one and a half kilometers. At last, I took a position in a convenient place only on the 5th day of the hunt, where the herd usually went after morning feeding for a lunch nap ("day"), after a long and tedious wait, it was possible to get the right trophy. Shot - caliber 300 Norma at 410 meters. The weather was clear, the altitude is 4280 m, the frost is 15C.
