Took another trophy of Sierra Nevada ibex in Spain, this time near the city of Granada. It was a very difficult hunt, 178 floors, 23 thousand steps over the mountains from 7 am to 3 pm. There were different groups of ibex, but we could only approach one group of males and females. We chose a worthy one, and I shot from a distance of 220 meters. From the first shot, the ibex fell to the ground without movement because of the shot from the 300 caliber. Not everyone understood from behind the branches whether we got him or not. We waited, when the animals left, but they left not at once, without understanding what had happened and where the shot came from and why their "friend" was lying. We went there 15-20 minutes later, and saw a ibex lying there, and we were very happy about it!

Охота на козерога произошла незапланированной. Я не смог добыть иберийского муфлона, и у организаторов была лицензия на козерога. Скажу так - охота на этих животных в мае достаточно непростая. Буш, зелень. Зверя сложно обнаружить, он находится в основном в буше, корма там хватает. И если вы его обнаружили, то подойти не обнаруженным практически невозможно. Своего козерога я обнаружил совершенно случайно только в конце второго дня (за время охоты на 3-х животных суммарно было пройдено более 100 км). Я изначально собирался стрелять только старого трофейного. Он стоял на краю леса заметив нас. Егерь дал комаеду на выстрел. Стрелял с сошек на дистанции 200 м. Я четко видел попадание, но козерог скрылся в буше. На месте была обнаружена кровь. Метров через 30 и сам зверь. Это был старый самец 13 лет С замечательными рогами и развалом.

The ibex hunt was unplanned. I could not get the Iberian mouflon, and the organizers had a license for the ibex. I will say this - hunting these animals in May is quite challenging. Bush, greens. The animal is hard to locate, it is mostly in the bush, there is plenty of food there. And if you find it, it is almost impossible to approach undetected. I found my ibex by accident only at the end of the second day (during the hunt for 3 animals I had traveled over 100 km in total). I originally intended to shoot only the old trophy. He was standing at the edge of the woods spotting us. The huntsman gave the command to shoot. I shot from the bipod from a distance of 200 m. I clearly saw the hit, but the ibex disappeared into the bush. There was blood on the spot. About 30 meters later I saw the animal itself. It was an old male, 13 years old, with wonderful horns and a camber.

Thar hunting in the beautiful mountains of New Zealand. The observed group of animals in the process of approach was covered by a cloud. After an hour of waiting for better visibility, the tahr was taken from a distance of 386 meters.

This was our second hunt in Spain. We moved to the Pyrenees near the French border. We went out for the hunt when it was still dark. First we drove, then we walked. During the whole hunt we had walked about 8 km. The ascent was not very steep, but it was about 800 meters high. The chamois were kept almost at the very top at 2000 meters above the sea level. On the way we found several groups, but these were young males, not trophy ones (we hunted, by the way, in the common use lands). The gamekeeper led us to the canyon, he assumed that there would be trophy specimens. And so it has appeared (the rise was 3 hours) in the canyon was found the lonely male with large horns. The distance was 200 m, angle +10 degrees. The animal was captured with one shot. As it appeared later it was the old male of 14-15 years old with the outstanding trophy qualities.

I had never hunted in Spain. But I knew I had to start. For the May holidays I decided to go and hunt two chamois and a mouflon. The mountains are not high, but all the same it is necessary to ascend a lot. In total we had walked 12 kilometers in one day. We started from a height of 600 m, and shot at an altitude of 1460 m. We saw a lot of animals and all of them were in groups. In the canyon we noticed a lonely male. Approached at a distance of 240 meters, angle +5 degrees. The shot hit the target. Cantrabian chamois jumped down, stopped and rolled. The male was 9-10 years old. The sun this day did not mercy us. This is Spain, after all. The organization of the hunt was at a high level!

I just got back from Buryatia. I managed to get a very good trophy of Siberian brown bear. I hunted with a bait from the hunting platform. I shot a Clb 9.3/62 with a Blazer p 8 with the day sight at dusk. A rare occasion in my life when I needed, or to be more precise, it was just necessary to have an backlight on the rifle scope.

In 2006 I hunted in Primorsky region. I was invited by my hunting friends with whom I studied together at the Irkutsk hunting faculty. The hunting was interesting from the approach. I shot with Argo, caliber 3006. I had a wonderful time. The nature and the weather was marvelous. Managed to see ginseng in the nature. This is a wild plantation of one of my friends, fans of this business!

Hunted in late June in Buryatia on solonetz soils. The goal was to get Manchurian wapiti antlers for medicinal purposes. That was done. One night was enough. I shot with the carbine BLAZER R 8klb 9,3/62 at 100 meters from the hunting platform. I used the thermal sight.

I hunted in Serpukhov district of Moscow region back in 2008. The winter and the day of hunting on December 31 were memorable. To my family I said that in the morning for a couple of hours I would go into the forest to hunt, so as not to interfere in the preparation of the holiday table. I returned at 19:00, and I was criticized a little bit because everybody was already waiting for me. I shot a 300wm, Heym SR - 30 carbine. It was frosty and sunny that day, about -25 C.

I hunted in the spring of 2012 on the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. Cape Tevi and the mouth of the river of the same name were very nice. Difficult logistics, even dangerous I would say. Strangely enough this too has its own charm. The fact that from Palana we went by boat along the coast about 120 km. It is not easy).  I shot 300 wm at 60 meters. We were going in fog along the coast, and suddenly bumped into an animal nose to nose, and luckily the bear got away from us on the mountain. That's how I got him. The hunt was organized by Fart/Eventus.

Thanks to my friends I managed to get a wonderful trophy of a huge (400 + kg)  Amur brown bear with black fur. The hunt was preceded by weeks of serious preparation, so the process of hunting was easy. The only thing that was required was patience. And I do not lack it.😊
