Siberian ibex

First trip to Altai. We were transported by helicopter to the foot of Mount Belukha, where we lived in the wagons of the search and rescue station on the shore of Lake Akkem. We were greeted by a golden autumn with a riot of colour in the mountain grasses. But one day we woke up to find that everything around us was white-white. It was snowing, winter had come overnight. On the fourth day of the hunt we managed to spot a group of males, they were positioned above us and all we had to do was sneak up on them, which we did. We were able to get close to them at a direct shooting distance of 170 meters. I fired and the sheep ran down the slope. The sheep I shot also ran down the slope and when it jumped out on the ridge of the opposite slope, I shot again and the sheep fell down, hurray!!!!! Altai ibex shot. It turned out to be a 10-year-old male with horns: right 85cm, left 86cm. I used Blazer R93, calibre 30-06, Tipstrake cartridge. Thanks to all who helped me with this hunt, which was memorable for a lifetime!

Kolyma Snow Sheep

The hunt took place from 1 to 5 August 2023 in the Kolyma highlands. The weather was changeable: clear, fog, rain, wind. On the second day of the hunt we tracked 3 snow sheep, the biggest was an 8 year old. Shooting distance - 265 meters, weapon Blaser R8, calibre 300 win mag. Taken from the first shot.

European Mouflon

My first hunting trip abroad took place in Bulgaria in May 2011. The hunt was organised by TABAKOV HUNT HUNTING WORLDWIDE in the hunting farm "Byalka". This place is famous for the fact that Todor Zhivkov used to hunt here. The farm has a large population of wild boar, deer, roe deer and mouflon. The hunt was successful and in one day I took a 13-year-old mouflon with horns: left 91cm, right 84cm. I shot with a rented Blazer 243 calibre rifle. The distance was 220 metres. The hunt was not difficult. We walked for two hours in the well-kept forest park area and then took photos with the trophy.

Yakutian snow sheep

The hunt for Yakut snow sheep took place in August 2023. The hunt started with a journey from the city of Yakutsk along the infamous Kolyma Tract. After overcoming 380 km of grader and crossing two rivers - the Lena and the Aldan - by ferry, we found ourselves at the home of the Evens - reindeer herders and indigenous people of Yakutia on the Kuranakh River. It rained for two days and we waited it out in a tent camp. On the third day the weather cleared and we went hunting in the mountains. The rangers had already found two male sheep who had settled down for a day's rest. The climb was not difficult - 400 me vertical to an altitude of 1600 m. The weather was sunny and windless, +20 °C. On reaching the top of the mountain, the assistant found a sheep resting 325 m below. There was an opportunity to get comfortable despite the steep angle of -35°. I thought, "I don't want to go down to visit the sheep". Anyway, my feet were above my head. I made corrections in the sight and fired! The sheep continued to lie in place and only the twitching of its hind leg told me that the bullet had hit it. There is a Yakut sheep, hurray! It turned out to be a male, 9 years old, left horn 68 cm, broken off, right horn 74 cm. To our surprise, after the shot was fired, a second sheep, which we had not seen, came out of the shrubbery. In spite of the shot, it came up to the first one lying down and began to silently examine it, kicking it with a hoof as if to say: "Get up, get up!" Yes, Bajanai was generous to us that day!

Okhotsk Snow Sheep

The hunt took place in August 2023 and lasted two days. The first day was unsuccessful. Reconnaissance found snow sheep in two places, which were in different gorges. We chose the first one and started to approach.  We made visual contact, but were hindered by a mountain river and an open approach point.  We decided to go back and find another sheep. We climbed up to the place of the supposed rookery, but there was no sheep there. We walked 5 km, vertical ascent was 400 meters. The next day we changed the location, sheep were found in the opposite direction of yesterday's hunt. It was a long climb up a stony mountain riverbed. We managed to get very close, about a hundred meters, but sheep detected us. It was a group of six males and they disappeared behind the slope. We ran up the slope and found them on the opposite side of the mountain across the gorge. I quickly got into shooting position, the sheep had already calmed down and were moving leisurely. Range 379 meters, slope angle -6 gr, the assistant identified the largest one. I took aim, fired. There was a hit, but the sheep started to go up with the group. The assistant shouted: "-Add more!" and I fired again. There was a hit, the sheep backed up and started to move down. "-What are we doing?" - "-Shoot again!" I fired and again I got a hit. The sheep rolled down the slope. On further inspection of the trophy it became clear that the first shot on the spot had been enough! Very tough animal, he withstood three 300wm hits on his wounds and fought for life, unbelievable! Okhotsk snow sheep taken, hurray!!!! It turned out to be an 11-year-old male with 381point horns according to preliminary measurements, left -85cm, right - 87cm. We walked 12 kilometers. The vertical ascent was 500 meters. The hunt was organized and conducted by Kuuta Trophy Hunting; excellent accommodation and hunting organisation! Thanks to Afanasiy Shishigin!

Kamchatkan Snow Sheep

The hunt for Kamchatkan snow sheep took place at the end of August 2023 as part of the expedition "Yakutia - Khabarovsk Krai - Kamchatka". The goal of the expedition was to take all three sheep. I was accompanied by a cameraman, we were filming a series of films "Snow sheep of Russia". Looking ahead, I will say that the trip was successful and we managed to take all three sheep and shoot interesting material. Hunting in Kamchatka was organised and conducted by the company "Eventus". The hunt was difficult, we spent two days in a tent camp. On the first day, after 10 hours of searching, we found only three females. On the second day, we were lucky. We hunted for 13 hours, travelled 15 km, climbed to an altitude of 1200 m and managed to take a magnificent trophy of a 13-year-old Snow sheep with a horn quality of 405.6 according to preliminary measurements! Left horn - 94cm, right horn - 93cm. Hurray!!! Shooting distance 300m, angle +8 deg, temperature +8 С, altitude 1731m. Calibre 300wm, Norma tipsrike 11g cartridge, Orsis Alpine tuning carbine, sighting system - Sig Sauer 10x42 Kilo10K binoculars. Thanks to Sergey Tyutchev and his team for excellent organisation of the hunt.

East Siberian brown bear

In August 2013 I was on a rafting trip in Yakutia with my hunting and fishing friends. I was tracking moose along a small stream and suddenly a Siberian brown bear came out at me. I fired five shots and the animal was taken.
