Ronda Ibex

It was one of the easiest hunts. We drove to the mountains after the lunch, spent an hour looking for Ibexes using binoculars. When they got up from the lair I shot and got the trophy. The shooting distance was 200m. Bronze medal

Beceite Ibex

The hunt lasted two days.  We couldn’t hunt in the first day because of the fog. On the Day 2 we found the male just in an hour after we left the base. I got it by the first accurate shot from the distance 110m. Gold Medal.

Siberian Ibex

We found the male at the first day but could approach it only in the twilights. I made the shot from the distance 240 and it fell to the abyss. It took us several hours to get it and we went back to the camp only in the morning. The horns were 115 and 116 sm.

Siberian Ibex

It was a beautiful one week hunt for Ibex and Sheep in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan.  Weather conditions were very severe, frost and cold wind. I made the accurate shot from the distance 300m and got the trophy with horns 103sm.

Hunt on Punjab Urial

This hunt was very short. We flew from Moscow with Sergey Magidov on Friday. In the morning we were in Islamabad. After that we went by car for about an hour and a half to the hunting base. After one hour, we were in the area of hunt, where I got the sheep. The male of the age 10 years was 31 in my list of Sheeps of the World CMH. The morning and the evening of the next day we with Sergey Magidov spent searching the sheep in the other area. We met the sheep sometimes, but it was impossible to make a shot due to the complex shape of the mountains. At 10 o’clock the organizers decided to change the area of hunting and we went to the new place by car. We arrived to the beautiful place in the river valley after three hours of drive. The hunt took about one hour. Sergey took a nice trophy of Punjab Urial as well. Hence, we had a hunt of the holidays in Pakistan. I want to note splendid organization and thank Profihunt and Shikar Safari for it.

Hunt for Bezoar Ibex in Iran

We attempted to find a Bezoar Ibex at the first day but saw just few groups of sheep and some young Ibex. That area was typical for goats habitat. There were steep rocks with deep hollows where Ibex could hide and it’d be hard to spot them. In the morning of Feb.14 we went about the mountain and climbed to the highest one 2760m. Being on the mountain we noticed the herd of Ibex, including not less than 15 males of different age. Most of them had distinctive light color. Animals were on the opposite rock and we couldn’t approach them. The distance was about 700m and I decided to shoot. I had the composite gun Proof Research 338 LM. Telling the truth I don’t fully understand how it works. The advantage is its weight but I can’t say that it stable works on the long distances. I accounted the ballistics twice using two different ways but the bullets hit slightly below the goat. We defined the destination where the goats ran away and made the decision to change the position and continue at the second part of the day. The animals had to be calm. I want to mention the fact that I became the first hunter in that area. Nobody hunted there before. That territory was leased to private individuals, what is the exception for Iran. There are not more than four hunting farms like that in the country. After the noon we came back to the place which checked before and found our group of males. The first shot was made from the distance 330m , all other from 550m. I got 7 years old Ibex which could be my 40th trophy form the MHC List- World Ibex. It could be because I still wait the results of the genetic expertise of the Ibex, which I got on Pamir. It has to confirm can we relate it to the Himalay subspecies or not. Waiting for results.

Hunt for Kerman Sheep in Iran

After three years of delays the hunt in Iran was opened already. The hunt was organized in the private hunting area in 40 minutes’ drive from Yazd to the north-east.  At the first day we found 4 males. The weather was awful. It was rainy with fog and strong gusty wind that’s why I decided to come as close as it was possible.  We approach 300 m from the leeward side. I got the sheep from the first shot. It’s my 30th trophy form the MHC List.

Hunt for the Cantabrian Chamois in Spain

I arrived to Spain on November 12, 2016 and it was my second visit to that country in the current year. I had time limits because of the busy business schedule and could devoted to the hunt only four days. But I had no doubt that could do it. Fernando met me at the airport in Madrid and then we drove 5 hours to the small authentic village where accommodated during the trip. It consisted just from the 15-20 houses. Everything was on the schedule and we even managed to test guns before the darkness. I’ve bought recently a new one Blazer 300 for the middle-distances. It suits for the traditional hunts in Europe. A chamois is a small animal no more than 30 kg weight. The cal. 338 is too powerful for it. Next morning after the breakfast we left the hotel. We drove off 300 meters from the village when noticed several groups of animals which grazed on the slopes. The population density was very high. But all of them were too small and were of little interest for me. So the end of the day had finally come when we detected the group of animals in 300 meters form us. Fernando, my guide, discerned there the male which had the trophy size. Its quality wasn’t really high but a little bit higher than the average. Moreover the trophies, which I was going to get there, were needed for Capra World Slam. I weighed the pros and cons and decided to take it. The first bullet passed above the male, then I missed the second time and only the third was final. So I got it from the third shot from the distance 310m, and the angle 25 degrees. It was 5-6 years old male with the horns 17-18 sm. I was very surprised by the two missed shots but probably it happened because I used the new gun and didn’t use to it yet. Next day we moved to another region where wanted to get the trophy of the Pyrenean Chamois.

Hunt for Gredos Ibex in Spain

I hunted in Spain once again and liked it as always. I got the excellent trophy of the Gredos Ibex (Golden medal 234-235 points by SCI). I used the rented gun 270 Weatherby Magnum. The shooting distance was 130 m.  I combined this hunt with the family vacation and spent time hunting and walking around Madrid.

The hunt for Marco Polo

We drove by jeeps and watched the slopes. The male was detected on the distance 1500 meters. Then we stopped and began to approach it by foot.. The difficulties on the hunt were the temperature- about -25C and the height. I shot on the altitude 5500 masl.  I got the trophy from the first shot from the distance 750 meters but fired at the angle about 30 degrees and from the uncomfortable position. I had to put the gun on the huge stone. The trophy has horns 172.5 sm and got 231 1/8 points by the SCI system.

Mid Caucasus (Kuban) Tur

It was five days of hard but interesting hunt in the picturesque mountains in Karachayevo-Circassian Republic.  I got great trophy of the Tur (357 points).  Thank you very much for the organization of this hunt.  There was big population of animals
