Hunt for Alpine Chamois and Ibex in Austria

I took 11 years old Alpine Ibex from the 60 m distance. I looked for and waited it for 6 hours. It’s a nice trophy ( 173.6 points by CIC).In 3 hours we drove to the new place and spend a night there. We got up early and went to hunt for Alpine Chamois. We left the car at the 1600m height and walked. In thirty minutes we noticed the group of animals.I shot from the 270m distance and missed. I had the rented gun and probably it was the reason.Fortunately in 15 minutes we met one more chamois and I took it from the same distance. It was 10 years old male.Thank you very much to all staff. They are professional. Thanks a lot to Stalker group for this hunt.

Dagestan Tur

I hunted in the North Ossetia for Dagestan Tur. There was a lot of snow and it made the hunt harder.  But despite of difficulties and thanks to the team work of our guides and their professionalism I got the Tur from the first shot. The distance was 180m.

Hunt on Vercors Chamois

The hunt took not more than one hour. We reached the maximal height by car, then walked not more than 30 minutes along the gorge. A group of chamois has been detected a once. I took the trophy with a single shot from the distance 160 meters.

Австрийские трофеи

Интересная и увлекательная охота состоялась в Австрии. Благодаря высокой организации охоты были добыты австрийский козерог и серна. Спасибо принимающей стороне и Профи Ханту.

Hunt for Bezoar Ibex in Armenia

I made the shot from the distance 500m on the height 1000 masl. The organization was well. The guides knew their work but we couldn’t see Armenian mouflon.

Korayk and Chukotka Snow Sheep

The shots were made from the distances 400 and 200m on the height 2000m. All transfers were by helicopter and  quad bikes. The manager was Alexander Ivanovich Borodylin. The organization was well and guides were effective. There were many animals and we could choose.

Hunt for Altay Ibex in Mongolia

It was my third trophy from Mongolia. I’ve got Altay Argali and Gobi Ibex before. The hunt took just half of the day because the guides made scouting before and everything was organized very well. The shot was made on the height 2700m from the distance 440m though there was a strong cross wind. We didn’t lose the wounded Ibex thanks to the sharp eyes of our leader Torsy who managed the hunt. Thank you very much to Edward Bendersky who presented this hunt for my birthday.

My first snow sheep 2017

We spent five day in the hunting area from 6 to 11th of September,2017. It took us three days to reach the hunting area- two flights, a vehicle, horses. Accommodation was in the tents. We were lucky with weather it was always sunny though windy. Every day we trekked from 15 to 25 km. and three times changed camp location. I got my sheep at the first day, made the race –“approach to the moving male”. The distance was 250m, I used Blazer P93, 300WM, cart. Nosler Accubond. Then I accompanied my friend and hoped if I met the bigger trophy. There were many funny and interesting situations, The trip was very intense. This trophy closed my “Mountain Five”.

Altay 2017

The first time when  I tried to get Siberian Ibex in 2016 in Koh-Agachi, was unsuccessful. Then I decided to try once again and arrived for the hunt in 2017(August) to Ust-Koksinsky region. We climbed from the village Kucherla. At the first day we found the herd of males and went them around.  I shot  from  the distance 200m and got my Siberian Ibex. Then the weather changed and it started rain. All other hunts were in the rain weather. At the last day my friend fired and took his trophy of the Ibex.

Hunt for the Caucasus Chamois

I looked for the trophy for 5 days near the Huzryk village. On the Day 5 we noticed the goat which had the rest on the slope. I sneaked to it up to 320m. I used 338 LM, cart. Nosler Accubond  and it stayed to lay on its place.  The trophy pretends to the Gold Medal!

Hunt for Siberian Ibex in Sayany

I flew to Khakassia to hunt for Sayany Ibex. The plane arrived at 8.45 and after taking the luggage we loaded it to the helicopter, which belonged to the AeroGeo company) and flied to the mountains. The weather forecast wasn’t well and the outfitter told me that the pilots wouldn’t fly such weather but our captain was the director of the company Alexander who is the very experienced pilot especially in the mountains. The helicopter was AS350. In an hour we landed on the base Bazoga. It’s located on the shore of the Sayano-Shushenskoye reservoir. There we changed the cloth, took only necessary equipment and flied to the top. Landing we noticed the herd of Ibex. Most of equipment was left on the landing area and we trek to the hunting base. It was safe to leave things there because locals who collected horns retired that area already. It took us 4 hours to walk to the hut. The evening intelligence showed that there were two herds nearby about 25 animal including 2 trophy size males. The cabin was quite suitable for stay: stove, bunks and there was the spring near. The door of the cabin was open on purpose because the Master of Taiga could break it. We decided to check other sunny places in the morning. All team got up early, at 8.20 we saw the herd from 14 males including two big ones. I shot from 340m, angle 27 degrees and heard the specific slap but didn’t see how it fell. We decided to shot one more time. The distance was 370, and the Ibex fell. We came down and found two old Ibex ( 12 and 11 years old). Made pictures and cut the meat. It took us three hours to rise to the pass once again. We called to the helicopter company and they told us to be on the definite place at noon tomorrow morning. One more night in the cabin and 4 hours walk to the landing area. We saved about 4 days using the chopper. I want to note the excellent work of the guide Vladimir , he is very professional! Thanks a lot to Stalker group and Evgeny Haritonov personally for this hunt.

The hunt at the curtain of 2016. Mid Caucasian Chamois in the North Ossetia

In the morning, after the successful hunt in a day before our team, which consisted of me, my cameraman and guides- Petro, Valery and Elbrus went for the hunt for the Mid Caucasian Chamois. We just left the camp when met two groups of Chamois but could not approach them because of the mountain relief. We moved further and found one more group of six males and decided to try. While we were approaching one of our guide Valery told us by radio that detected one more lonely chamois which stood between us and the group. Unfortunately I hadn’t the scope and couldn’t estimate the trophy. We had the short discussion and I decided to try. The shooting distance was 470 m. , the angle 17 degrees. I fired. The Chamois fell to the bottom of the gorge,( 50-70 meters) and broke one of the horns. I was upset and asked for the opportunity to get one more trophy of better quality with not damaged horns. In a half of an hour we detected one more chamois which laid on the slope. I didn’t trust the binocular and examined the male through the sight. I liked its size and horns and made the decision to shoot. We approached 407 m., the angle was 30 degrees. I got it. It rolled after the shot but didn’t fall off the cliff. I breathed a sigh of relief. It was 11 years old male, left horn was 20 sm and the right one 21 sm. So I got the forth trophy of the Caucasian Tur and two trophies of the Mid-Caucasian Chamois during this trip.

Охота на снежного барана

С третьей попытки (до этого было два "пустых" выезда на Камчатку, в основном из-за непогоды) и на третий день охоты был добыт прекрасный 10-летний трофей снежного барана. "Горная пятерка" закрыта!

Hunt in Kazakhstan

We arrived to Kazakhstan at the beginning of the season.  It was too hot and all mountains were covered by impassable vegetation and most of them were steep enough. But the animals were not afraid of hunters yet. The accommodation was organized on the high level and all staff was very  professional. I got the trophy of Ibex with the horns 115 and 117 sm. The hunt took us the half of the day. The shooting distance was 260 meters but it wasn’t easy to approach the male so close.
