Hume’s Argali in Kyrgyzstan

The hunt took place in October 2024 in the Naryn Region of Kyrgyzstan, in the Ak-Sai Valley. The weather was changeable, and not every day allowed us to ascend into the mountains. There was a bit of snow, and the frosts had already set in. Nevertheless, luck was on our side, and I managed to harvest a Hume Argali, approximately 12-13 years old. The shooting distance was 420 metres at an altitude of 4,000 metres above sea level.

Harvesting the Gredos Ibex with a bow

I hunted with a bow. After being hit, the ibex ran some distance and jumped onto a stone in the river. After standing there for a while, it fell into the rushing waters. My trophy was carried away by the current for about 5 kilometres. A few days later, the huntsman managed to find it and sent me a photo of the head.

Harvesting the Mid - Caucasian chamois in North Ossetia

I hunted in November. The weather was very bad: the hunting days were extremely frosty and snowy. On the day of the chamois harvest, there was a heavy snowstorm. We spotted a herd of chamois in the rocks. The animals were constantly moving. The approach was challenging. I shot at a running animal from a distance of 280 metres. The chamois fell from the cliff. Unfortunately, the trophy broke.Only the skull could be taken.

Harvesting the Alpine chamois

I hunted in extremely bad weather conditions. The shooting distance was 400 metres. The trophy fell over the edge of a cliff. The gamekeeper descended using climbing ropes to confirm that the trophy was there and to take a photograph of the chamois. However, as it was evening, it was not possible to retrieve the trophy that day. I was leaving the next day, so the trophy was collected without me.
