The opening of the hunt for the male European roe deer was successful! "Native lands" – this name is well suited to that hunting farm. The places are really beautiful, rich in animals and pleasing to the eye. I enjoyed the obvious advantages of hunting at the beginning of the season: low grass, not hot, not cold, and the complete absence of insects! The humidity and rains let down a little, but since it wasn't a torrential downpour, it didn't really hurt the hunting. I saw moose, hares, grouse, ducks, woodcocks, fox and roe deer. We couldn't approach the roe deer, during the morning and Saturday evening, but Sunday morning was crowned with success! Already at the end of the morning, I went out with the huntsman to the next field… Silence, waiting, then the guide called, silence, waiting… We moved closer to the copse, and suddenly I noticed the movement that made me freeze in place. A male roe deer was walking in the direction of the field behind the bushes, slowly and carefully, stopping and feeding! I expose the carbine and for a long time, tensely, intently, patiently keep the roe deer in sight: I was waiting for the appearance of the shoulder blade in the place of the least dense cluster of branches. The first time I shot through the bushes, but everything worked out. The adrenaline and tension accumulated before the shot manifested itself in a slight tremor of the hands after the shot! We wait a little and go to see: a blood trail easily leads to a trophy after twenty meters!
