Hunting for brown bear

I hunted in the second half of May 2018 in the north of the Kamchatka Peninsula on the Okhotsk Sea. From Palana we went by boat to the north along the coast for more than 150 km,-what a pleasure. The wild beauty and power of nature fascinated. We hunted from an approach, on foot, in the evening at the low tide. There were a lot of bears on the territory, so we could choose. 338 caliber Lapua Magnum. Hunted with EVENTUS.

Hunting for Barbary Sheep in North Africa

I hunted in Morocco. And with great pleasure. Nowadays, here, in addition to feather hunt, you can get an aoudad (Barbary Sheep) and a berberian wild boar. So I did.Sheep hunting is open in the country for the second year and is in high demand. Many of the leading hunters of the world, including Russians, have already managed to make a successful shot here. Out of 19 hunts the only one was unsuccessful.I had a good shooting on the first day. But I had to do my best. For 7 hours of hunting we went almost 18 kilometers. There were unfortunate misses, but in the end I caught an 8 year old sheep on the run at a distance of about 230-240 meters.I was very pleased with the density of sheep. During this day we saw about 60 sheep, a couple of them with excellent trophy qualities. There is practically no poaching in this region. The only problem is stray dogs, which cause damage to the mountain dwellers so they are neutralized by the hunters at the first opportunity. The second trophy was taken much easier. The hunt began two hours before sunset and took place in the royal orange plantations. And the old boar (11 years old) was taken 10 minutes before total darkness. I was pleased with the shot with a 12-caliber smoothbore gun at about 65-70 meters. In general, I highly recommend Morocco for both hunting and tourism.

Hunting for Kamchatka moose

I hunted in Kamchatka in frosty December 2018. Lucky!!! I took a beautiful trophy of Kamchatka moose by the end of the day, and then during the night we were taking out the meat and trophy at -40° C, some of the escorts almost got frostbite on their limbs, but vodka and tea saved people. The hunt was organized and conducted by the company EVENTUS.

The lord of wolves

At the end of February 2014 I was invited by Viktor Kim to the Vologda region, to hunt wolves. We were joined by our colleague Igor Viktorovich Kozlov. Igor R., also a hunter we knew, was waiting for us. The organizer of the hunt was Valery Churin, a very famous wolf hunter. A year before Victor Nikolayevich had already been to Valery Churin and got two wolves.  When we arrived in Totemsky district, near the village of Lobanikha, Valery Alekseevich said that all of us would shoot. "Self-assured," I thought. By this time I had stood many times without results at the number, where there were a few dozen hunters in corrals for several kilometers who wanted to get a wolf. This time our corrals was approximately two kilometers. So, for the first time Valery Alekseyevich and the huntsman together went slowly from the opposite side of the corrals. The first shot, in my opinion, was fired by Igor R., but missed. When Valery Alexeyevich saw that Igor came with a rifled weapon, I told him it would be better if he took a smooth weapon.  Then, Victor Nikolaevich took a wolf. Finally, it was my turn - I was standing right by the flags. I look, to the left of me, directly along the flags two wolves move to me. I thought to myself: "like they taught me, I'll miss the first one and shoot the second one. I managed to switch on the GoPro ;). When the first two almost came close to me, another she-wolf came straight at me. I had to shoot the first wolf, and then the she-wolf. The wolf fell on the ground, and the she-wolf turned and ran away. Then she crawled bloodied along the traces under the flags and ran away along the Sukhon river. So the first corral ended successfully, if so it can be called. In the second corral we were moved up a little. I was put practically on the same place where I was at the first corral, but only, having moved inside the enclosure on 50 meters. There was a small glade in front of me. They put me at the end of the glade closer to the woods. I thought, "what kind of fool would go into that glade". I moved away from the woods myself and looked at it.  The second corral began again opposite hunters. After a while with the lateral vision I noticed some movement from behind and from the side. I looked back and saw, the wolf goes directly on a glade to my side. And I was standing back to him. I waited while he comes on 10 meters, has turned around and has shot. The wolf fell down on the ground. "Some kind of enchanted wolves," I thought. That was the end of the second corral. Only Igor Kozlov did not shoot. Then we were transferred to the opposite side, where Valery Alekseevich began the first corral. To do this we had to walk 700 meters on the snowmobile trace, which was not easy at all, sometimes we fell through the waist. Igor and I were set up. The beater came at us from the opposite side from where we had stood in the previous corral. In the third corral the wolf ran directly on Igor and he got him. The result is stunning: 4 wolves for 4 hunters in one day. The result is stunning: Four wolves on four hunters in one day. And my wounded she-wolf.  Valeriy Alekseyevich is the lord of wolves!!! And wolves are enchanted by him. I have never had such a fantastic wolf hunt to this day. The road home was waiting for us.

Hunting for Bukhara Urial in Uzbekistan

My fourth mountain trophy is the Bukhara Urial! After a tiring ten-hour trip we finally arrived in the village of Khatak in Surkhandarya Region. In the morning, after a short mountain climb, I got a seven or seven-eight-year-old Urial from a distance of 370 meters. I would like to thank Behruz Abdushukurov and Evgeny Kharitonov for a excellent hunting!

Mid-Asian Ibex, taken in Tajikistan

It was a great trip. The adventure began at the airport; it took three hours for the four ultra-professional custom officers to check out the weapons. A comfortable flight to Dushanbe, a meeting with the host, breakfast, and departure to  the grounds. It took us eight hours to travel by car. We spent the night in the kishlak, and in the morning we moved out to hunt, having planned to spend the night in a small house in the mountains. We saw many ibexes during the first day, but the distances were long. After spending the night in the morning we started moving slowly. I would like to notice that all days of hunting were trekking on foot. We had walked a lot!!! By noon of the second day we found a group of ibex with the possibility of approach. I shot at a distance of 550 meters, the ibex was taken with the first shot. I shot with my Blaser R8 carbine in 338LM caliber.

Siberian Mountain Ibex

Hunting in Sayan is always very difficult. I didn’t have any easy one yet. I had to experience the heat, the smoke of fires, ascents, descents with full backpacks once again.

Kuban Tur

In 2019 I hunted with friends for the Kuban Tur. The representative of the outfitter Dmitry Grigoriev assured me that the Tur’s horns had to be not less then 90sm. It was one more time when he was right. My trophy’s horns were 94 sm. Thank you very much to the High Hunt Pro company.  I shot first time when the animal was in 600 meters and wounded it. I got it by the second shot from the distance 550 meters. The used gun was Blazer R8 300 WM.

Snow Sheep

The snow sheep was taken with dogs. I’ve got snow sheep trophies before which were better.

Siberian Ibex

My lifelong dream came true at last! I got the Siberian Ibex on the Altai mountains. The shooting distance was 325m. I’m really happy and has done one more step towards my goal! Thank you very much to High Hunt Pro company for the organization of this hunt.

Wolf hunting

The hunt was organized in the north of the Yaroslavl region in February 2017. It was a classic cover hunt with flags. There were two wolves' groups inside  . Being in my haste, I forgot the magazine for my carbine and was limited to only one cartridge. I had a terrible headache after celebrating a friend's birthday and I  sat down  quietly under the Christmas tree inside the flag line. About 10 minutes passed after the start of the roundup, when I noticed two wolves slowly walking towards me. She-wolf was a in front, and a little further away from her  a seasoned one went. Since I had only one chance, I let the animals get as close as possible, especially since the wind was from them. I wanted to wait for the wolves to cross so that I could take both of them with one shot. But about 15 meters away from me, the wolf stopped, which was the signal for me to shoot. A little later, a seasoned one was also obtained on another hunter.

Ossetian chamois!

The hunt took just one day. We got up early, at 3 o'clock in the morning, and left the camp at 4, then we climbed the mountains at dusk. The difference in height that we walked, was about 800 meters. I did the shot 300 WM at 150 meters. I saw about ten chamois in three groups. It turned out to approach a sleeping loner. I have seen a lot of Caucasian deer, the rut was still in full swing. Thanks to Kazbek and Tsar for their hospitality, and to Peter for accompanying us!

Caucasian Chamois

The hunt went very quickly. We left the base at 6 am,  and got the trophy at 10 am. Height 2400 m,  the lift 500 m, shorting distance 200m, angle 35 degrees, weapon Blaser R93, caliber 8x68s.

Yakutia Snow Sheep

Interesting hunting in the Sakha Republic in combination with its severity and beauty. It started with a 7-hour flight from Moscow to Yakutsk, then transfer to Magan airport, another flight on a light aircraft 1.2 hours, then 6 hours by car and we are at the hunting place. Like any hunt, in most cases, this non-exception began with reconnaissance in battle (search for an animal and a suitable trophy). On the second day, the situation is the same and here it is at a distance of about 3 km, the treasured trophy, but the time is far past 16-00 and the strength is running out and the frost is getting stronger in such a situation, it is important not to overestimate your capabilities and the capabilities of the person who accompanies you, since you are one with him and in such conditions there is nowhere to wait, it was decided to descend and postpone the approach to the next day.The morning of the third day met us with a coolness of minus 32 degrees Celsius, but this is not a hindrance for the hunter and the choice has been made. The height difference from the foot to the top was 933 meters and the whole daylight hours, but that same ram stands under us at a distance of 460 meters. In extreme conditions, everything must be flawless and maintained, including the dry descent check. And here is a new day and we will shoot a new chance for success or failure. This time, the previous misunderstanding is corrected and the weapon is ready to fire a shot. Again, the search for a trophy was discovered. It was decided to approach only the hunter. A steep snow-covered slope holds back the moment of truth, but now the beast breaks down and, as if the wind runs first down the slope and disappears with the hope of at least one shot, and then appears on the opposite slope in the head, a thought for a chance and the hands have already done the roar shot out its work like a clap of lightning and the defeated beast breaks down like a trap and rolls down. The hunt was hard, exciting and uncompromising.

Hunting for the Kuban tur in Karachay-Cherkessia

It was a hard hunt as always. Only on the 4th day we were able to find a group of the Kuban Tur. I fired at the departing group. The distance was 700 m, the angle was + 5 degrees, the wind was 10 m / s. The first shot fatally wounded the beast, after the second hit, the tur flew down after flying 200 meters of free fall. The old male was 11 years old.
