Hunting Of Tleulin Timur in Uzbekistan for a mountain goat December 2020

I got the trophy of the Siberian Ibex. We were lucky with weather. It was sunny and clear.

Beyond the sheep, to the Pamirs.

It happened in the beginning of December when Maxim Vorobiev (the owner of the Hunt PRO company), my wife Angela and I flew to Tajikistan through Istanbul. It was an early morning when we arrived to Dushanbe and drove to Khorog. We traveled in the first car and the other three hunters for Marco Polo from USA drove in another. The way in 620 km took us the whole day. It was the evening when we arrived to Khorog and accommodated in the hotel. Next morning Shaudi took us and we drove to the hunting base “Hot spring”. The outfitters Atabek and Zafar told us that they did reconnaissance before our arrival and we would go for hunting after a lunch. At noon we arrived to the place, tested guns, had lunch and drove to the mountains. We managed to drive by car to the group of sheep. The guides from the second car were following our trophy size Matison sheep. We came from above at a distance of 457 m and I got a shot. I hit it. The male went five meters and fell down. We were so happy to get the trophy of Matison sheep in the first day. It was my 22nd sheep according OVIS classification!  All next days we were looking for a Marco Polo. I saw many but none of them was worthy to be a trophy.  Day #4. Snow went from the morning and we could hardly see anything. Suddenly the clouds lifted for a moment and we saw the group of sheep led by a good male  Our guide Kemat, Maxim and I began to ascend. We climbed the top and hiked several km by the ridge when the sheep could see us but thanks to the fog which covered everything we reached the place. We walked about three hours and reached the position. We thought the shooting distance would be about 500 m but after measuring it was 900 and there was no possibility to come closer. I decided to fire. The wind speed was 3 m/sec. I was ready to get a shot and Maxim switched on camera but we had to wait thirty minutes more while the male separated from the group. At last it turned and I fired. The distance at that moment was 915 meters. Marco Polo ran 5 meters and fell down. The altitude was 4500 masl. We were happy!  My special thanks to Kemat, Atabek, Zafar (Murgab company) and to Maxim Vorobiev “PRO” and to my wife Angela!

EUROPEAN MOUFLON (OVIS GMELINI MUSIMON)

My hunt for the Balkan chamois in North Macedonia was finished earlier than planned, and we decided to use time, we had, and get one more trophy of the European mouflon. The hunt was organized by Anton Tonchev in 200 km from the previous place. In early morning we left the base and went for hunting. I got the trophy in the first part of the day. The shooting distance was 150m. My personal thanks to Mr. Anton Tonchev for his great hospitality and interesting stories about hunting in different part of the world.

BALKAN CHAMOIS (RUPICAPRA RUPICAPRA BALCANICA)

This fall I had to choose where to hunt among the countries with the lower risk to get infected with a coronavirus. Thus, I resolved to go to North Macedonia and to get the Balkan chamois. The outfitter, I chosen, had organized hunting trips for my friends before and the organization and accommodation were on the high level as I expected. We went for hunting on the next morning after my arrival. I was accompanied by the guide. The first males were detected in a couple of hours. Unfortunately, we could approach them 600 meters only. A strong crosswind was blowing and I decided not to shoot. We went on and in an hour noticed one more lonely male. The shooting distance was 235m, at the angle 22 degrees. I did just one but accurate shot and got my trophy. The hunt was over in the first day. We saw several more groups of animals while descending to the base camp. The camp manager rated my trophy between Silver and Bronze. The we celebrated the successful hunting. Thank you very much to Novice Zecevic.- the director of local hunting company.

Mid Caucasian Chamois

I got the trophy of Mid Caucasian Chamois in North Ossetia in the Digor gorge. The height was 2700 masl. the distance 320.

Dagestan Tur

The desired trophy! I got in in the first hunting day. The shooting distance was 220m. Thank you very much to the local guides!

Mid-Caucasian Tur

The hunt was organized near the village Prielbruse, Karachaevo-Cherkessia on the height 2500 masl. The weather was fine. It was sunny and lots of snow. I shot from 520 m at 35 degrees angle.  The rifle was Tikka T3, cal. 300. I did the only but accurate shot to the male’s shoulder blade. My trophy became the worthy 11 years old male with 71cm horns.

Hunting for a Dagestani tur in Chechnya

From 2018 hunting in Chechnay is opened once again. The Minister of the Natural resources of Chechnay  Said-Magomed Temirkhanova and a famous hunter Shirvani Khizrieva invited me for hunting. At the end of November, I arrived to Grozny.  The hunt was organized in Sharoy district on the border with Georgia. The Caucasus mountains tested hunters for strength as always. The animal’s population density is high there. We saw group of animals in each gorge which inspected during the hunt. That area is the habitat for the Caucasus Brown bear and Caucasian Chamois and Bezoar ibex, listed in the Regional and Federal Red Book of rare species. We climbed 2750 m and approached the animals from above. I shot from 480 m and wounded the male. The second shot form 280 m finished what I started.

Hunting in Uzbekistan

I hunted in Uzbekistan from 27th  to 30th of December. The hunt was organized by the local outfitter   Behruz Abdushukurov and the “Falcon Hunting Solutions” company. Everything was done on the highest level, I talk about service and hunting process.  First day I hunted for the Severtsev argali  in Jizzakh region, the ridge Nuratau. The hunt, including the way up and down, took only 4 hours. I shot from 520 m distance at 16 degrees angle. My trophy was 9 years old male. Next day we flew to Surkhandarya region, Sherabad district, Khatak village. We climbed the Kugitang ridge where I took Bukharan Urial. The shooting distance was 460m. This hunting was also not hard. The climbing took us about 40 minutes. On November 29 we went  for hunting for a Bukharan Markhor. We were ascending about an hour when the guides who monitored the surrounding told us about a group of animals led by  a good size male. The group  was moving to our side. We found them  in 485 meters from us. I shot down at an angle of more than 40 degrees from a very awkward position. It was the interesting adventure. I want to say thank you to the guides who did this hunt so effective. When that hunt was over we flew to Tashkent region (Bostanlyk district) for hunting for the Mid Asian ibex. We spent the night in the Arkbulag gorge and early morning went for hunting.  At dawn we detected the group of ibexes. The distance was about 700 meters. The stones didn’t allow me to take the comfortable position to shoot that’s why I had to make a rather difficult climb and to fire without preparation. My trophy became 11 years old male. It was not the easy hunt. The average temperature was – 10C.  In conclusion, I want to say that it was one of the best and most interesting hunts in my life. Four good trophies were taken in four days. Many thanks to the Uzbek hosts for organizing this wonderful hunt!

Hunting in Kabardino-Balkaria

It was my first visit to KBR and I was impressed by mountains there. We were lucky with weather, there was not any cloud on the sky while we were hunting. The hunt took one day. I shot from 350 m distance. Thank you very much to Sergey Razhivin for the organization and to the local guide for his professionalism.
