European red deer

In September 2023 I was lucky to shoot a red deer trophy during the rut. The hunt took place in the Tver region. The distance was 200 metres.

Hunting Mid-Asian ibex in Uzbekistan

We set out very early to hunt ibex, as there was not much snow at the foot of the mountains this year and all the animals were very high up. At the top of the mountains, of course, there is a lot of snow, in some places up to your waist. As we climbed up the mountains to about 3000 metres we found 2 groups of ibex. One group consisted of male ibex and the other group consisted of males with females. This was the mating season, but due to the relatively warm weather it was not too active. We walked about 10 kilometres. In one of the gorges we found a large male with 4 females. As we were higher up, the animals did not see us and were not frightened. The shooting angle was -50°, a very uncomfortable position, the distance was 170 metres. We had to shoot from a rucksack. As soon as the animal came out from behind a rock, I fired. The animal "pecked" its nose and buried itself in the ground. It was an 11 year old male.

Mid-Caucasian Tur

Caucasian red deer

On the third day of the hunt I took a Caucasian red deer in North Ossetia. I walked along the Fiagdonsky and Karmadonsky gorges. But on the third day I shot near the village of Gornaya Saniba. The distance was 695 metres. I fired three times and hit twice. But we found the deer the next day. It was a very hard-to-reach place. I thank the company ProfiHant Ltd for the organisation of the hunt, personally Tsare and especially Valera!

Mid - Caucasian chamois

At the beginning of November, at the invitation of a friend, I flew to North Ossetia to hunt chamois and Dagestani tur. On the first day, after an easy climb (a difference in altitude of about 300 metres), I shot a chamois. The second day was dedicated to the tur. The ascent was very difficult, from 2200 to 3100 almost, even one of the huntsmen could not reach the top. The gusty wind of 15 to 20 m/s made shooting very difficult, but everything worked out. I took a great trophy of 11 years old. It was such a busy express-hunt and I managed to shoot good material for the film, details will be on my channel soon. https://youtu.be/NKdrtigyx3I?si=vkq20KrS0ovxsLfX

Tur. Ossetia 2023

In November this year I chose the time to hunt a Dagestani tur. I hunted in Ossetia. We went into the mountains at 4 a.m., made a long climb with a difference in altitude of 1.5 kilometres. As a result, I took my coveted trophy. Calibre 300vm, distance 389 metres. I shot at a departing tur.  I am 100% satisfied. Especially with the hospitality of the host.

Kuban tur hunting

The ridge where our hunt took place connects two peaks. We watched the aurochs with binoculars from one side and from the other. We left at 3:00 in the morning and arrived at the site at 6:00. We expected to see the animals coming up from their feeding grounds. Surprisingly, there were very few turs in the area we had scouted the night before. The distance to them was about 700m and there was no way to get closer. Some time later, on the neighbouring peak, on the other side of the ridge, we noticed a stir, a loud whistle revealing a group of turs. The whistle meant we had been spotted. The male came out from behind a rock and stared at us, trying to see the potential danger. We froze. For them we were in plain sight. We could send Marat around the mountain and try to push them from that side. It wasn't certain that they would run in our direction, but there was still a chance. Or we had to go down and walk around the mountain together. I liked this idea better and we went down... The walk took another 1.5 hours. We went down, around the mountain on loose rock, then on boulders and a glacier. As we climbed we immediately saw 4 turs and after measuring the distance I decided to shoot. I took off my rucksack, unfolded the rifle, set up the bipods and took another look through the binoculars to see all the animals on the cliff. Two twin brothers stood on a stone, one lying a little lower in the shade. Just beyond the huge gateposts, the male appeared, walking around the herd as if looking out and counting them, like a leader. As he walked along the edge of the mountain, he paused for a moment and turned his head to the side, revealing his spread majestic horns. Looking through the binoculars, I desperately searched the rocks for more males, but I had a feeling that this 'leader' would not stay still for long. Tur walked again, and I kept him in sight until he stopped. The shot deafened me and the guide. The ringing in my ears lingered for a while. And I wondered if the animal had fallen or not. It seemed to me that the trophy had stepped behind the rock, although the crack said it had been hit. "Yes, it fell on the spot," said Marat, "it seems to me that it is there." And it was his "I think" and his hastily assembled ammunition that made me nervous until the last moment, when Marat, who had climbed first, found the lying tur and, lifting its head by the horns, showed me my trophy. I shouted with joy to all the mountains.
