Section "Bulletin of the CMH"

Dear members of the Mountain Hunters Club, since April 2022, the official press organ of the CMH, the magazine "The Magic of a Real SAFARI", has ceased to exist for a number of reasons. At the same time, the official partner of the CMH became the "Russian Hunting Magazine", in which the section "Bulletin of the CMH" appeared. In this section, the CMH rating and awards, summary reports of mountain hunters, informational materials are published, and also in the "Adventurers" section you can read emotional and informative stories of our authors about hunting mountain ungulates. These articles will also be published on the CMH website with some time delay. To always be aware of new publications, buy at kiosks and specialized stores "Russian Hunting Magazine" or subscribe to it on the website rhm-magazine.ru (Subscription section). You can subscribe to the magazine from any month during the year. Dear authors, send your text and photo materials to the mail andmmo@yandex.ru the host of the section is Anatoly Mozharov.

Expanded meeting of the CMH trophy commission

Expanded meeting of the CMH trophy commission

The EXTENDED MEETING OF THE TROPHY COMMISSION of the Mountain Hunters Club took place on July 27th.At the meeting, a decision was made to clarify and amend the CMH rating lists.I. On changing the procedure for registering the Corsican mouflon, included in the OVIS list of the CMHThe International Club GSCO has decided to change the registration of Corsican mouflon trophies. Due to the fact that the homeland of the Corsican mouflon is the island of Corsica, where hunting for this subspecies is currently closed, hunters were able to hunt it only in a limited area of mainland France, where the Corsican mouflon was previously introduced. The Association of French Outfitters has initiated, together with GSCO, a hunting and conservation program for the mouflon in the south of the French mainland. From now on, the Corsican mouflon, which lives in the south of mainland France, will be called the FRENCH CORSICAN MOUFLON (Ovis gmelini Corsicana-continentis). Its range has also expanded.Details of the mouflon conservation program, as well as the rationale for the name change, can be found in the attached GSCO article. The Trophy Commission of the KGO decided: Change in the OVIS KGO rating list (position 54) the name "Corsican Mouflon" to FRENCH CORSICAN MOUFLON (Ovis gmelini Corsicana-continentis)    2. Make appropriate changes to the description of the range of the species in the section "Mountain Ungulates", based on the map presented in the GSCO article.    3. Previously registered Corsican Mouflon trophies will be automatically transferred to the new category. For the members of the Club who obtained them, nothing changes. The adopted decisions come into force on September 01, 2022.

2022 Beretta Awards

Beretta Awards for 2022 were presented at the annual convention of the Italian chapter of Safari Club International (SCI), held in Florence on July 8. The Italian chapter of SCI is the largest in number, it unites more than 450 members. This award is presented annually. Any member of the Italian division of SCI can nominate one of his trophies, got on each of the continents for the Beretta award. The Commission reviews all the materials (field photo, the trophy measurement sheet according to the SCI system, a brief report how it's been got) and selects the first 10 trophies for each continent. The nominees receive prizes stylized as plates, with the indication of the serial number and the year of the award. The main nominee of the year is selected among all the winners by continent. Then the winner is awarded a prize in the form of a statuette – a hunter with a trophy. The peculiarity of the 2022 convention was that it has not been held due to the restrictions associated with the pandemic since 2019 , and three prizes were awarded at once – based on the results of the past three years. We congratulate the Club member Erich Muller on receiving the highest Beretta award of the Italian chapter of SCI for 2022. His trophy of an Aoudad sheep, got in Sudan, was recognized as the best among all the nominees. EXTENDED MEETING OF THE TROPHY COMMISSION OF THE Mountain Hunters Club took place on February 18

A number of decisions, related to clarifying and making changes to the rating lists of CMH, were made at the meeting. I. On the inclusion of the Kharaulakh snow sheep in the OVIS list of the CMH 1. To include the Kharaulakh snow sheep in the OVIS rating list of the Club of Mountain Hunters with a rating score 3. To Make appropriate changes to the Club's website The detailed material on the genetic difference of the snow sheep of the Kharaulakh range from other subspecies of the snow sheep, as well as the scientific justification for its allocation as a separate subspecies can be found in Information about the Kharaulakh sheep  II. On the exclusion of a number of species from the CMH rating lists. 1. Only trophies hunted in free (unfenced) territories are accepted for registration in accordance with the rules of the Club. In this regard, it was decided to exclude from the CMH rating lists those species that currently do not live in open areas. The following species are no longer accepted for registration in the Club of Mountain Hunters. - Mountain kri-kri goat, got in Macedonia - Nubian mountain goat introduced in South Africa - Nubian mountain goat introduced to the USA - Mountain goat Bezoar, introduced in New Mexico, USA - Barbary of Aoudad sheep introduced to South Africa - Trans-Caspian urial introduced to Texas, USA 2. These species remain in the lists of the CMH, but are marked with a special footnote "not accepted for registration" 3. 3. Points for  trophies of the listed types that have been hunted before the ban are not canceled. III. The info about the algorithm for assigning an ordinal number in the rating of Club members with an equal number of points. If two or more hunters have an equal number of points in the rating table , the following algorithm for assigning an ordinal number in the rating is used: - to take into account the number of animals taken in case of an equal number of points. A higher number in the rating is assigned to the hunter who has got a larger number of animals - if the number of animals among hunters also turns out to be equal, then a higher position in the rating list is awarded to the one who registered the trophy giving the total score earlier. The decisions taken come into force from the moment of publication on the website.

On December 16, the New Year's Eve of the Mountain Hunters Club took place

The President of the Club, E.V. Bendersky, addressed the participants of the meeting, told about the implementation of the Club's environmental initiatives. This year, with the financial support of the Club, the first stage of the program for the study, conservation and rational use of a new subspecies of the snow sheep of the Kharaulakh ridge was implemented, developed by the KGO together with the relevant departments of the Ministry of Ecology and Nature Management of Russia, the Ministry of Ecology and Nature Management of Yakutia, as well as a number of scientific institutions in Russia. The start of this program was given thanks to the scientific work of the All-Russian Institute of Animal Husbandry on genotyping biological samples of snow sheep, including those collected by members of the Club. Thanks to the research of Natalia A. Zinovieva (director of the Institute) and researcher Arsen Dotsev, the genetic difference between snow sheep living on the Kharaulakh ridge in Yakutia from other subspecies of sheep was revealed. In August 2021, an expedition was undertaken to carry out current accounting work and collect scientific information about this subspecies of sheep. Processing the results of the expedition and genetic research data makes it possible to make a decision on the inclusion of the Kharaulakh snow sheep in the KGO rating tables, as well as to give reasonable recommendations to international hunting clubs on the allocation of this subspecies in their trophy categories. The implementation of this program will continue next year. To ensure this, it is planned to create a special fund for the study and conservation of the Kharaulakh snow sheep. To date, the costs of implementing the first stage of the program amounted to 7,336,400 rubles. The project to restore the number of Caucasian chamois and bezoar goat in the North Caucasus, fundraising for which was started last year, entered a new phase in 2021: The Department of State Policy and Regulation in the field of Hunting and the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Center for the Development of Hunting" of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Club, began trapping animals to create breeding stock in the nursery. As of today, 3 chamois have already been placed in the nursery, one of them was born already in our nursery, and 5 bezoar goats. It is impossible not to note the contribution to the implementation of this project of the head of the hunting Department of the MPR Filatov A.A. and the director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Center for the Development of Hunting Economy" Morgunov N.A. The financial expenses of the Club for the implementation of the creation of a Nursery and the capture of animals amounted to 64,037,000 rubles. The implementation of such large-scale environmental projects would have been impossible without the financial support of Club members, project sponsors, participants of the annual Auction of the Club. The President of the Club celebrated the new patrons Vyacheslav Gorb, Magomed Nabiev and Vyacheslav Saakov with the presentation of commemorative plaques and badges. Many members of the Club are at the same time members of other international clubs, receive high recognition at the international level. Alexander Egorov is the only Russian who has been awarded the highest hunting award – the Weatherby Prize. Today we also congratulate him on the award of the OVIS Prize– the highest award of the OVIS Grand Slam International club. This year Vyacheslav Gorb and Sergey Yastrzhembsky joined the Spanish club of mountain hunters Culminum Magister. Many members of the CLC participate in the ratings of the International Safari Club SCI, the OVIS Club. Yuri Vasiliev was awarded the Prize "Goats and Capricorns 20" by the Ovis International Club this year. Sergey Yastrzhembsky was awarded the highest international award for hunting ethics and environmental activities - the Conklin Prize for 2022. This year, a big event was the release of S. Yastrzhembsky's film "Hope Shot" on the cinema screens. The premiere of the film took place within the framework of the Moscow International Film Festival. Director of the Department of State Policy and Regulation in the field of hunting of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Falatov A.A. presented the gratitude of the Ministry of Natural Resources for participation in the program of study and conservation of the snow sheep of the Kharaulakh ridge Alekseev Vladimir Vladimirovich, director of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Primorsky", and the president of the Fund "snow leopard" Medvedev Dmitry Germanovich. Filatov A.A. Thanked the Club for cooperation in the field of conservation and rational use of wildlife resources. Alexander Kuznetsov, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Sverdlovsk Region, made an invitation to participate in the hunting exhibition "Caliber 2022" on March 24-27 in Yekaterinburg. In addition to the commercial part of the exhibition, an extensive business program, an exhibition of hunting trophies and courses for experts on trophy evaluation according to the CIC system are planned. An auction was held to raise funds for the implementation of environmental projects of the Club: restoration of the number of mountain ungulates of the North Caucasus, study and conservation of the snow sheep of the Kharaulakh ridge. The most emotional and solemn part of the evening's program was the awarding ceremony of the Club members with prizes and awards. A new line of prizes in the Russian Super Cup nomination was presented: for 15, 30 and 35 trophies from the list of hunting animal species of Russia. For more information about the Club's prize system and their levels, see the Awards section The prizes of Rosokhotrybolovsoyuz "Magnificent Seven" and "Mountain Five" were presented by the President of Rosokhotrybolovsoyuz Aramileva Tatiana Sergeevna. On Amendments to the Federal Law

On Amendments to the Federal Law

On Amendments to the Federal Law "On Hunting and Conservation of Hunting Resources and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian FederationAdopted by the State Duma on May 19, 2021 Approved by the Federation Council on June 2, 2021 Today the President signed a law, the importance of which for the hunting industry is difficult to overestimate. The specifics of hunting activities is the need to invest significant funds in biotechnical and other activities aimed at preserving and reproducing populations of wild animals, creating a hunting infrastructure. In this case, we are talking about long-term investments (from 25 to 49 years) in the context of the objective difficulties of long-term planning. Until today, the hunting user did not have any legal guarantees for the investments made. With the adoption of the law, the investors in the hunting economy had mechanisms for the assignment of rights and obligations under the hunting agreement, as well as guarantees to continue their activities as a matter of priority, with the conscientious fulfillment of their obligations to manage the populations of game animals. By the way, an important novelty of the adopted law is the establishment of a direct obligation to maintain at least a minimum number of hunting animals within the boundaries of the assigned hunting grounds, violation of which will result in the termination of the hunting agreement in court.

On Amendments to Article 78 of the Land Code and Article 114 of the Forest Code

Federal Law No. 209-FZ of June 11, 2021 "On Amendments to Article 78 of the Land Code of the Russian Federation and Article 114 of the Forest Code of the Russian Federation"Adopted by the State Duma on June 2, 2021 Approved by the Federation Council on June 2, 2021 Today, the President also signed a law returning the hunting practice to the traditional framework historically adopted in Russia. This is a law that removes formal restrictions on the conduct of hunting activities within a 30-kilometer zone around settlements on agricultural land and in green forest zones. It should be emphasized that hunting on agricultural lands around villages and villages has always been historically carried out in Russia. The signed law removes excessive restrictions unreasonably introduced in 2016. Also, green zones of forests around settlements (not to be confused with forest park zones!) Are traditionally habitats for wild animals, whose populations need to be managed, which was unreasonably forgotten in 2019 when this category of protective forests was legislatively regulated.
