Russian Super Cup

Eurasian brown bear

It was a bear hunting over bait. On the first day the animal did not come out, but on the second day, after 5 hours of waiting, the bear appeared!

Kuban tur

Mountain hunting is very unpredictable, we had planned to hunt lower, but the weather was warm and we had to go to the top of the ridge.

Kamchatkan Snow Sheep

It was a very interesting mountain hunt!!!

Kamchatkan Snow Sheep

Hunted in August 2021 in central Kamchatka, Milkovsky district. The weather was not good. It was raining, but in the meantime I managed to take a beautiful trophy of snow sheep. Shot from a distance of 240 m. Clb 300 WM. Blaser R8, Zeiss 2.8-20/56 optics. The hunt was organised by Eventus Hunt.

Bukharan markhor

On the first day of hunting Bukharan Markhor we observed several groups of animals on different slopes, but no suitable trophy was seen.  At the very end of the evening hunt we observed a group of 3 males, one of which had good trophy qualities. The group split up and just as that trophy male was moving towards us, not giving us a chance to take aim. In the end at a distance of 588 metres he stopped, but not for long and I was not able to make a shot. Just a few seconds after stopping the male skipped down into the gorge. That was the end of the first day of the hunt. The second day of the hunt we started with a survey of the nearest slope, found a trophy, started our approach, but the male also noticed us and went over the ridge. A few minutes later, huntsmen reported that they had seen it resting on the slope. We decided to try our luck and approach it, but from the other side of the mountain. During the approach the huntsmen observed the animal, but when they got to the right spot they lost sight of it. As a result, all we could see was a group of 3 young males making a typical "quack" and a group of females with youngsters, and the trophy male disappeared somewhere. Suddenly, from the bottom of the gorge, right below us, the same male we saw last night and this morning rises. He had isolated a group of females and was moving confidently towards the young males. Having received permission from the huntsman, without wasting a second, I fired a precise shot from a distance of 250 metres and took a trophy of a 9-year-old Bukharan markhor! I would like to express my gratitude to Bekhruz, the organiser of the hunt!

Kri-kri Ibex

In November 2023 I took my Kri-Kri ibex in Greece, on the island of Atalandi. It was a completely atypical and unusual hunt for a mountain hunter. It was a completely different hunt from what I was used to. The difficulty was that this ibex could not be taken from the approach, it hears every rustle. It was very difficult to sit on a chair for 5 hours without moving - my back, arms, legs - everything was swollen and numb. While I was taking the weapon off, 2 ibexes ran away. Then I tried to sit without the weapon for about an hour and a half so as not to miss the third ibex, and I was aiming for about 20 minutes. I can't tell you how much my arms and back hurt after such a hunt. It was a really hard hunt, even with a smoothbore weapon, because rifled weapons are forbidden in Greece.

Gredos Ibex Hunting

The hunt was prepared to a high standard. For two days the rangers tracked a very old trophy male. For about an hour we walked to the spot, checking every crevice. Finally we found it. The distance was 250 metres. I threw my rucksack on a rock, took aim and fired. The animal ran 5 metres and collapsed. It was a very old male, about 14 years old.

Mouflon in Spain

On the first day we drove and walked a lot in the hunting area, but only saw females. On the second day, while it was still dark, we moved to another area. For a long time we could not find a group of animals. Finally, after 2 hours of searching, we found a mixed group of sheep, including a very nice trophy male. Unfortunately the wind was very strong and the animals, sensing us, kept running away. We tried to approach them several times. As a result, the sheep disappeared behind one of the hills. We decided to approach from the other side. We walked for quite a while before we found a group of sheep that had already separated. First we saw two small males and then another trophy male Iberian mouflon 500 metres away. I had a few seconds to take the shot. I fired from my rucksack and the animal fell with one shot.

Barbary Sheep

It was the easiest hunt. First we tested and adjusted the rifle. Then we drove 500 metres and started to check and explore the slopes. We didn't see anything. We drove another 500 metres and stopped to check another slope. There, 50 metres from us, was a sheep grazing. I quickly loaded my carbine and fired from the hand without any preparation. All I saw was the sheep's head and neck. It seemed to me that the bullet passed to the left of the animal and I shot again at the running animal. The huntsman said I probably missed, but we decided to check. We got to the spot where the Barbary Sheep was standing and found traces of blood. It was clear that the animal was badly wounded. After 20 metres, the sheep was lying in the bush. The shot was right in the neck. The animal was 10 years old.
