In the mountains near Isfahan, extending south to the city of Mervdasht, located north of Shiraz. The area contains two nature reserves. The nearest one is Gamoshlu, just 30 km from Isfahan. The second is Muteh, situated 100 miles northwest of Isfahan, between the cities of Kashan to the east and Golpayegan to the west.
