Macedonia

Macedonia is trying to become “a great hunting country” treading on the heels of Argentina, Australia and New Zealand. Owners of the hunting territories bring some foreign game, breed it and offer to hunters some new trophies in the Old World. As another option, the owners register feral goats and sheep as new trophy animals. However, there is lots of traditional Balkan “wild”game in Macedonia.
Eight different trophies for four days are an excellent result for hunting in Europe! However, we had only three true European species – wild boar, fallow deer and jackal which came to the bait instead of wolf. We also managed to take two feral sheep varieties, registered by SCI as trophy animals: Dalmatian Wild Sheep and Racka Sheep. And finally we got three introduced species: chital, Himalayan tahr and “european turkey”.
