Konstantin Samsonov on the Global "Ovis" and "Capra" Slams:
“It is no secret that few things unite people like a shared hobby.
While hunting itself is a passion for millions, the community of mountain hunting enthusiasts stands as a distinct group.
The most authoritative international organization of mountain hunters is the Grand Slam Club/Ovis.
Currently, the club boasts nearly 5000 members worldwide. Within the club, there are specific ranks that one can achieve by hunting certain species of mountain game according to established rules.
The "Ovis" rank requires hunting 12 different mountain sheep, and the "Capra" rank requires hunting 12 different mountain goats. Beyond these are the "Super 20," "Super 30," "Super 40," and "Super 50" ranks.
To date, I have completed the initial global slams for both "Ovis" and "Capra" and received my awards. I am proud of my achievements, having successfully hunted 12 mountain sheep:
