The Tarbagatai Ridge in eastern Kazakhstan and northern Xinjiang, extending east through the Sayr Mountains and other smaller ridges up to the Mayli and Barlyk mountains. It is separated from the Altai Mountains by the Black Irtysh River basin. To the west, it does not connect with the range of the Karaganda argali.

* Due to the existing legislative restrictions on hunting these species, such a trophy may be considered if it was harvested with a special permit issued by the competent government authority of the country of origin. Additionally, these species may be included in the rating forms as a photographic trophy, but only under the Super 60 category.
